02 - Study And Work

Students enrolled in vocational courses or in colleges will receive a letter from the government permitting them to work. They will be allowed to work a total of 20 hours per week while studying on vacation courses or in the area considered practical. However, it is also possible to work full time.

There are several vocational courses that can be chosen, but it is worth mentioning that it is necessary to complete high school and intermediate or advanced English. There is also the option of internship / co-op, where it’s possible to work, even after completing the course. When the program ends, you will have a certificate, which is great for your resume!

03 - College and University

There are numerous course options for those who wish to attend college or university in Canada. They usually last 2 to 3 years. It is possible to work 20 hours a week during the school period and full time during the summer holidays.

To participate in this program, the student must meet certain criteria and follow rules that are set out by the government of Canada. For instance, the course must be a minimum of 8 months and each student must provide proof of a universal language certificate either in English / French, such as TOEFL and IELTS.

Upon completion of the upper level, the student can obtain a post-graduation work permit (PGWP). This will help to obtain longer-term employment within the same field of study throughout the country.
